These days moving house can be a time consuming and stressful event. In order to minimise this, we can do your packing for you.
JH Retief Transport can pack your household goods. Packing or wrapping of breakables, clothing, paintings, etc. is usually done one day before the actual removal.
Only clean, high quality packing material are used.
It is essential to consider special wrapping for your most precious possessions. We want the goods to arrive at their destination in the same condition as they left.
Our sales consultant will advise you on which items should be specially packed, wrapped and/or crated: Fine artwork, delicate crystal, china and your precious antiques, as well as your clothing and linen, will be safely and securely packed, using specially designed and custom-made cartons and crates where applicable.
Specially designed TV cartons are available.
It is not necessary for you to unpack cupboards and put out small articles such as glassware for our packers. It is easier for us to pack these articles directly from the cupboards into the cartons. Kindly ensure that all items have been removed and packed, before the truck leaves.
If you are doing your own packing in advance, it is essential that you unpack all drawers, cabinets and cupboards. Do not leave any items in drawers, or inside furniture as it is heavy and might cause damage to your furniture during the transportation.
Please note that all packing must be completed prior to the removal date.
On the day of removal, our driver and packer will look around to get an overview of what needs to be packed. Please show them the entire residence.
Please point out any special packing or wrapping you want them to do for you, if all packing was not done the previous day.
After the furniture is loaded, please go through the house with them to confirm that all packing and loading has been done.
Inventories are made, detailing all items moved (long distance, international and storage moves only) and a copy will be handed to you prior to the departure of our vehicle as receipt of items loaded.
